3 Stylish Retro-Inspired Properties in the U.S. & Canada

These stylish retro-inspired properties in the U.S. & Canada are the farthest thing from dated. In fact, these updated, revamped beauties feature some of the most eclectic decor, amenities, and design elements we’ve ever seen. More below👇

1️⃣ The Burrard (@theburrard): This chic boutique hotel is located in the heart of bustling Vancouver. Inside the 1950-era property, expect tons of hip touches including brightly painted guest room doors and colorful in-room accents, Andy Warhol prints, a hip coffee shop that serves up java, pastries, and cocktails in a lush foliage-filled courtyard for people-watching and ping-pong. Other amenities include free bike rentals, wifi (of course), and pet-friendly amenities like treats and dog beds (extra cost). No stay is complete without a visit to the on-site eatery, Burgoo.

2️⃣ The Surfjack (@thesurfjack): Honolulu’s hippest hotel boasts 112 ‘60s-inspired rooms and suites. The decor itself is nearly perfect: Think colorful surfboards hanging from the ceilings, lamps fashioned from recycled bottles, and custom artwork. The lobby features colorful pillows and clectic accents. Before headng to the practically-made-for-Instagram-pool (which is hand-tiled with the phrase, “Wish You Were Here”) grab an espresso to-go at the cafe. The Surfjack’s laid-back, communal vibe can be felt throughout every corner of the property. Come happy hour, sip a cocktail and curl up with a good book in the lounge before grabbing a bite at the on-site acclaimed eatery, Mahina and Suns.

3️⃣ The Betsy (@thebetsyhotel): This Art-Deco gem sits right on Miami’s famous Ocean Drive. The Betsy, which was built back in 1942, features incredible Georgina-inspired architecture — plus an arty sky bridge that makes for the perfect photo opp. The property’s warm and welcoming ambiance attracts locals and travelers alike. Art enthusiasts and literary lovers will especially appreciate the curated on-site gallery (which features the property’s awe-inspiring art and photography collection). Bookworms can (and should!) cozy up to a classic book on one of the library’s plush velvet chairs, or play a game of chess on the sofa. The rooftop sundeck is to die for.
