The only caveat? It’s solely available for a one-night stay this coming fall — and you’ll have to act fast to book.
Known as Casa Vicens, the historical estate dates back to 1885 — and it’s nothing short of awe-inspiring. The 136-year-old single-family home combines Moorish and neoclassical architectural styles. The building is located in Barcelona — more specifically, the once-sleepy neighborhood of Gràcia — which has since transformed into a bustling district of its own with plenty of shops, restaurants, and attractions.
The property turned museum — which is now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site — was original built as a summer house. When working on the hearth, Gaudí sought inspiration from the vibrant surroundings in the form of bright colors, a lush private garden, and Art Nouveau touches.
Lucky guests will also be treated to a private history tour, where you can admire 34 restored paintings, an expansive porch, and ornate decor. Following the tour, refuel with an extravagant feast in the grand dining room. After a much-needed nightcap in the smoking parlor, retreat to the distinctively designed bedroom and catch up on some shut-eye. Lastly, before you check-out, enjoy a delicious Mediterranean-inspired breakfast (How many croissants is too many? Asking for a friend…) outside in the lavish garden.
Booking opens at 4:00 PM CEST on July 12, 2021, for a one-night stay for a group of two guests this fall. They will have the chance to request to book the stay at airbnb.com/gaudi.
Interested guests should note that house rules are in strict adherence with local COVID-19 guidelines, and those who request to book must live in the same household to minimize risk.
