Welcome to INNESS, where wild meets cultivated is the ethos across all areas of their storied sanctuary, and days are filled with a plethora of outdoor pursuits, followed by fireside evenings under a blanket of stars.

Upon opening in 2021, the Accord, NY newcomer quickly secured status as the #1 Hudson Valley hotspot, with a minimalistic-rustic aesthetic rooted in subtle simplicity.

While the award-winning, Scandinavian-minded design may be the main reason to check into INNESS—we’re sure you’ve spied the hanging by a single hook drape on your feed—it’s certainly not the only one. A breathtaking dreamscape conceptualized by gardening guru Miranda Brooks is yet another, in addition to a one-of-a-kind golf course.

You’ll witness manicured paths winding through untamed wildflower beds on a leisurely walk to dinner and pebble-strewn paths flanked by Hudson Valley’s finest flora and fauna on a morning stroll to the Farmhouse for coffee.

As far as accommodations go, there is a cluster of cozy cabins to choose from, with intimate porch decks and wood-burning stoves, or one of 12 rooms in the main house ranging from King Mini Suites with fireplaces to Double Full rooms ideal for a girlfriend’s getaway or family sojourn upstate.

A good night’s sleep was clearly the focus when it comes to the made-for-lazing-about cabins. Frette linens adorn the Nordic-inspired beds and thoughtfully curated minibars stocked with nearby purveyor goods are at the ready when hunger strikes.

One of the key factors that set INNESS apart from its Hudson Valley peers is its triumphant 9-hole links-style golf course that’s open to both hotel guests and members. The team of architects at King Collins designed the intricate patchwork of putting, practice, and double greens which has already been dubbed the “Sweetens’ Back Nine” as an homage to their prized course in Tennessee: Sweetens Cove.

Try your hand at a hole-in-one in the “Lion’s Mouth” bunker before settling your scorecard and heading to the Golf Bar for an ice-cold INNESS Lager. Or, spend the remainder of the day at one of the hotel’s saltwater pools. The larger of the two is located next to the Events Barn and rolling verdant fields that unwind as far as the eye can see.

They are also renowned for the Restaurant and Bar at INNESS, with a locally-sourced menu imagined by Chef Alex Napolitano. Similar to the accommodations, the dining room is cast in natural light and outfitted in warm woods, with a striking marble bar at the helm.

Seasonally-driven dishes, handmade pasta, and charred vegetables from their onsite garden pair perfectly with the natural wine list selections, but our favorite seat in the house happens to be on the veranda, with The Gunks (Shawangunk Mountains) as your backdrop.

The local sourdough bread course is divine with whipped butter and a side of zesty, marinated olives. The salads are colorful and crisp—leafy bowls of spicy arugula and snap peas—and then there’s the roasted spaetzle studded with oyster mushrooms and Comté cheese, which is arguably the star of the show. Finish that up with the flat iron steak frites and a Basque cheesecake with sticky-sweet agrodolce for good measure.
