What to Do:

Visit El Retiro Park

Spread over 125 hectares, El Retiro Park is one of Madrid’s most famous outdoor areas. The Temple of Debod was originally built in the 2nd century BC in Egypt but was later relocated to Spain in the 1960s as a gift from the Egyptian government. Visitors can explore the temple’s interior, view the intricate carvings, and see views of Madrid from the surrounding park. We suggest going here around sunset when the glow of the sun turns the temple gold.
