Constructed in 1913, the Carlton Hotel combines the grandeur of its original architecture with contemporary design elements. Following a major renovation in 2007, the hotel has carefully preserved its historical character while introducing modern updates that enhance its appeal. With the most recent updates completed in 2024, the property is now even fresher and more sophisticated, making it the ideal destination for discerning travelers seeking luxury within the Engadin.

The hotel’s interiors are a testament to Swiss craftsmanship and artistry. Renowned interior designer Carlo Rampazzi conceptualized the 60 rooms and suites. Each is generously sized, starting at 45m², and features the most current technology while maintaining a warm, inviting atmosphere. All accommodations are south-facing, allowing guests to enjoy breathtaking views of the spectacular surroundings.

The Carlton Penthouse is the largest suite in St. Moritz, occupying the entire eighth floor. Spanning 386m², it includes three spacious bedrooms, individual bathrooms, a fireplace, an open-plan living and dining area, and five terraces.

Culinary excellence is a cornerstone of the Carlton experience, with dining options that cater to a variety of tastes while maintaining a focus on high-quality ingredients and exceptional flavors. The hotel is home to two prestigious restaurants: the Grand Restaurant and Da Vittorio

The Grand Restaurant, which underwent a complete renovation for the 2023/2024 season, is helmed by Executive Chef Salvatore Frequente. This local culinary talent has brought a fresh approach to the menu, emphasizing locally inspired dishes that focus on seasonal, wild products sourced from the surrounding forests and alpine meadows.

Da Vittorio, under the stewardship of the Cerea brothers, is a two-Michelin-starred restaurant celebrated for its sophisticated flavors and gastronomic flair.

For something more casual, visit Carlton Bar and Bel Etage at the heart of the hotel. At night, it’s a chic, laidback setting to enjoy drinks, shareable dishes, and enjoy live music.

One of the most beloved aspects of the Carlton Hotel is its sun terrace. With arguably the best views in town, it’s the perfect perch to enjoy a light lunch, sip a spritz, or indulge in the hotel’s famous afternoon tea.

Just below the sweeping terrace on the ground floor stand several cozy gondolas adorned with fuzzy blankets and a wooden tablescape where guests can enjoy traditional Swiss cheese fondue.

The 1,200m² Carlton Spa hosts a holistic wellness program that spans three floors. Guests can enjoy massages, facials, and other beauty treatments in one of the six rooms below intricately-painted ceilings. The luxurious 35m² spa suite, complete with its own whirlpool, sauna, and Dornbracht-Rainsky shower with light therapy provides private wellness for the entire day.

The hotel has a modern fitness center and swimming pool for those interested in physical fitness.

On the lowest floor is the expansive sauna world, which includes a steam bath and caldarium as well as Finnish and private ladies’ saunas. Cool down after a sauna session in one of the various experience showers, in the ice fountain, or within the Kneipp snow path. Or, guests can simply choose to lounge in the indoor-outdoor relaxation pool. 

Families are also well-catered for at the Carlton Hotel, with the Schellen-Ursli Kids Club, named after a beloved Swiss childhood hero, giving children a fun and engaging environment.
