Domes’ Chic Boutique Hotel in Mykonos Finds the Balance Between Pause and Party

At the intersection of Mykonos’ legendary party scene and its laidback wellness vibe lies Domes Noruz Mykonos: a bohemian retreat harmoniously attuned to its surroundings yet blissfully unbothered by the buzz. Here, you can dance all night to house music at lavish nightclubs like Scorpios, then seamlessly transition to a sunrise yoga session at the hotel and rejuvenate with CBD-infused massages at the Soma Spa the next day.

As you approach the luxury hotel after a bumpy ferry ride from another island (or perhaps you wisely booked a flight), you’ll be immediately refreshed by the sight of traditional Mykonian architecture—where smooth, arched doorways offer glimpses of palm trees and glistening pools ahead waiting to welcome you.

Beyond its boho-chic lobby—where Assouline’s high-design coffee table book Mykonos Muse adds a hint of cerulean blue to the cream and taupe-hued decor—exceptional suites or “havens” (the term used for their extra-luxe accommodations, though every room here is impeccably styled) dot the property. Each room features a comfortable king-size bed and cozy seating areas. Typical Grecian style is evident with tan-tiled floors, custom wicker furnishings, elevated woven carpets, and bespoke minimalist artworks, creating a high-design yet mellow ambiance. Lavish en suite washrooms with walk-in rain showers make getting ready for nights out a breeze. Best of all, private plunge pools or jacuzzis are available for night swims if you please.

The main Aegean Sea-facing pool is leisurely available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., or you can spend a quiet day at their private lido. However, the tranquil infinity pool, overlooking the white-cubed hillside and flanked by lounge-worthy day beds, entices you to bask in the Mediterranean. The Vatanee restaurant and Raw Bar conveniently sit adjacent to the deck, allowing you to head over for a poolside cocktail lazily or simply ask the attentive staff to bring it to you. While the atmosphere might not reach the Dionysian heights of day parties at Alemagou, you can still sip on fig-leaf-infused gin cocktails or wines from the Greek isles as you prepare for the evening.

With Little Venice just a stone’s throw away from the hotel, plenty of dining options are nearby. However, the al fresco Vatanee Restaurant at Domes is a worthy choice if you prefer to stay and relax at the resort. Dining tables surround a gracious olive tree, and the menu is, without surprise, Mediterranean and seafood-focused. (Think: Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Poseidon, the god of the sea, are the inspirations here.) For breakfast, there’s a Greek yogurt parfait, of course, or a selection of à la carte options, such as a fluffy slice of brioche toast topped with two poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. Dinner-wise, indulge in the delectable octopus served over a fava bean puree.

For post-beach and clubbing detox sessions, Domes Noruz Mykonos has you covered at their Soma Spa, affectionately known as “The Amuse.” Here, specialty therapies like the Back in Time massage employ Hippocratic-inspired detox techniques, while the Honey Enzyme facial revitalizes your complexion.
