Punctuated shipwreck-shaped chalets amidst the famous sand dunes of Namibia’s Skeleton Coast National Park, #ShipwreckLodge is the first permanent place of accommodation in the area. The hotel’s ten rooms have views of the Atlantic Ocean, where the resident Benguela current grants guests a refreshing sea breeze. Interior-wise, blue and purple hues pay homage to the area’s twilight desert sky, which is plentiful with stars come nighttime. Namibia—one of the least-densely populated countries on earth—has seen various passing ships lose direction and end up a wreck on its secluded shores. This served as the main conduit for local Designer, Nina Martiz’s architectural vision for the hotel.
