Is This Singapore’s Sleekest New Hotel?

Edition’s properties around the world follow a similar format. Each has a minimalistic design, greenery woven throughout the space, and a fabulous location. However, the brand’s hotels each feel unique, taking on the identity of the city they are located in with touches from local designers and a design inspired by the location.

The Singapore Edition, the brand’s first Southeast Asia property, is arguably one of my favorites. It’s just a few minutes walk from one of the most iconic shopping streets in all of Singapore yet it feels like you’re in the middle of a lush, green jungle from the second you walk through the doors.

The 204-room property has greenery integrated into every aspect of its design. In the center of the hotel, a lush garden filled with plants as far as the eye can see. Within the sleek white marble lobby, floor-to-ceiling windows are surrounded by plants hanging and placed throughout. And it doesn’t end there, plants are all over, making the space feel cozy and intimate.

All the rooms are spacious and feel instantly comforting, thanks to the neutral design. Wood tones, crisp white sheets, and large, floor-to-ceiling windows are some of the design details that create this effect. Many of the rooms offer views of the interior courtyard, which features a fabulous garden. To continue the greenery effect, decorative pots of orchids are placed along the windowsills. It’s a tranquil, green oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Singapore. Once you step into the halls, Edition’s signature scent, a custom fragrance created with Le Labo, reminds you where you are.

Days at the Edition start and end in Fysh, a restaurant by award-winning chef Josh Niland. The spot is the Australian chef’s first spot outside of Australia and highlights his sustainable cooking approach. During breakfast, the spot houses an incredible breakfast buffet, complete with fresh pastries, an assortment of cheeses, and much more. For a cheeky cocktail, head to The Lobby Bar, which features cocktails inspired by scents like ylang-ylang and bergamot, or the Punch Room, a cobalt-blue speakeasy-style room with locally-inspired punch bowls.

On the roof, there is an incredible pool with sleek white lounge chairs all around. Additionally, there’s a bar that serves watermelon coolers alongside local bites like chicken rice and satay.
