One of France’s most iconic shopping experiences is set to debut tomorrow in New York, and it’s more than just a department store. Beyond its giant, gorgeous bronze doors, French fashion emporium Printemps is a capsule into the chicness of Paris—but instead of across the Atlantic, it’s in Manhattan’s Financial District. Stretching 55,000 square feet all around, hospitality, retail, and dining meet in the middle here.
The store is an opulent auxiliary to FiDi’s business-forward, corporate-centric taste. French interior designer, Laura Gonzalez brings shades of red and green and textures to Downtown Manhattan. The designer worked to create the “Red Room,” which is everyone’s dream of a walk-in shoe closet.
Printemps New York’s mantra “Not a Department Store” stays true to its intentions. Guests are not simply meant to merely shop but to meander through every nook and cranny of couture fittings, manicures, luxury shopping, and vintage finds.
Printemps New York officially opens to the public on March 21, 2025.
