For nearly 10 years, Quintessence Hotel was built stone by stone from the ground up. Opened in 2018, this property (owned by American attorney Geoffrey Fieger, known for his high-profile defense of Dr. Jack Kevorkian, or ‘Dr. Death’), was inspired by the original Malliouhana Hotel, which first put Anguilla on the jet-set map. The hotel was created by artisans with museum-like quality. Haitian art and antiques fill every room, leaving walls, tables, and even outdoor spaces sights to behold. The property is home to the world’s largest Haitian art collection outside of Haiti, which was curated by Fieger. Additionally, the Q Art Gallery, located on the property, features the works of artists such as Henri Robert Bresil and Jasmin Joseph, with tags that run as high as $40,000.
