The Best Bars in Bangkok

Bangkok is known for its rich cultural heritage, breathtaking temples, and lively street food scene, which is why it’s one of the most popular destinations in Southeast Asia. After an evening spent strolling through one of the night markets, snacking on the delicious street food, you’ll want to grab a handcrafted cocktail at one of the best bars in Bangkok.

Tai Soon Bar

With a location near popular street food joints, Tai Soon Bar is a great spot for beer lovers. The bar specializes in craft beer and has at least 13 different beers on tap at all times. Housed in an abandoned Old Town pharmacy, the spot retains original details like a drug-cabinet-shaped bar along with exposed metal, red neon letters, and hanging Chinese lanterns.

Havana Social

Located on Sukhumvit Soi 11, a famous party strip that has now evolved, is Havana Social. The spot feels like taking a visit to 1940s Cuba, thanks to its dim lighting, salsa band, and delicious assortment of Cuban sandwiches piled high with meat and gooey cheese. When you visit, try one of the cocktails, which are rum-based and feature popular Cuban drinks like daiquiris, Cuba libres, or mojitos.  If rum isn’t your favorite, you can smoke a Cuban cigar or sip an imported craft beer.

BKK Social Club

Set inside the luxe Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, BKK Social Club often draws crowds thanks to its consistent placement on the list of The World’s Best Bars. Opulent chandeliers, house-made ingredients, and delicious cocktails are landmarks of this popular spot. Whether you try a classic cocktail like a Negroni or a house-made concoction, you’ll quickly realize that each carefully curated drink is a masterpiece.

Moon Bar

For the best rooftop bar in the city, Moon Bar is your best bet. With a location on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel, you’ll have panoramic views of Lumpini Park, the Chao Phraya River, and Sathorn Road. During a visit, you shouldn’t miss out on one of its boozy creations made with local fruits. However, its expansive menu also offers plenty of expensive bottles of wine or Champagne.

Sing Sing Theater

With lanterns, painted umbrellas, wooden dragons, and heavy velvet curtains, Sing Sing Theater feels like stepping back into 1930s Shanghai. While it serves up delicious drinks featuring top-shelf liquors, the spot is also a nightclub. The spot was voted the best club in Bangkok, so expect fantastic music, a lively atmosphere, and drinks pouring until closing time.

Sky Bar

Located 250 meters up in the air, Sky Bar is one of the highest bars in the world and one of the best rooftop bars in Bangkok. While the spot was always pretty popular, the bar quickly garnered fame when it appeared in the ‘Hangover II’ movie. You’ll want to get here early to get a good spot to enjoy the creative signature cocktails since the bar has become a tourist hotspot.
