This Boutique Hotel in Denver’s River North Arts District Serves Up Major Cool Factor and Killer Cocktails

A booming metropolis dating back to the Old West era, Colorado’s capital buzzes with breweries, museums, and outdoor activities. It’s also well known as the gateway to many ski resorts and hiking areas in the Rocky Mountains. Over time, the Mile High City has really come into its own as a creative hub. Much of that free-spirited expression pulsates from the River North Arts District.

Tucked inside a large brick building that looks like an old warehouse, The Ramble Hotel acts as a sort of artsy meeting point for Patagonia-clad locals, hipsters, and urbanites from around the country. The locally owned boutique hotel boasts a gorgeous lobby with sweeping ceilings, giant windows, and a rich color palette. Much more than just the home of the tufted check-in desk where the friendly staff doles out old-timey leather keys to guests, the multipurpose ground floor space also plays host to a coffee shop that also does breakfast service in the morning and an award-winning bar.

The first Death & Co. outpost outside of New York City pours killer cocktails in a lively setting that’s framed by arched mirrors, crystal chandeliers, and hundreds of bottles of booze. During the warmer months, the libation-fueled fun also goes down on a  seasonal garden terrace that’s illuminated by a neon sign that reads “wish you were here.”

Hungry? You’ll find a unique Latin dim sum restaurant concept. At Super Mega Bien, James Beard-nominated chef and owner Dana Rodriguez prepares delicious dishes like slow-braised beef with sweet plantains and perfectly crispy patatas bravas alongside small bites served from colorful carts.

Each of the 50 rooms reflects the industrial-chic-meets-glam design that’s consistent throughout the property. Expect velvet headboards in deep jewel tones, eclectic gallery walls, and vintage rugs. There are king bedrooms for couples, playful bunk beds that fun-loving duos will dig, and a spacious pied-a-terre suite with Parisian influences. Though, admittedly, you’re unlikely to spend much time snoozing with one of the best bars in the city right downstairs and the excitement of RiNo just outside the front door.
