Some of Madeira’s best features are its crystal clear blue waters and rich biodiversity, and The Savoy Palace is the best place on the Portuguese island to take it all in. Known as a jewel in Madeira’s capital, the property, part of Leading Hotels of The World, is arguably one of the most exclusive hotels on the island.

Built in the former site of the Savoy Classic, the Savoy Palace completely changed the hotel scene in the destination. In fact, since its opening, it has been a landmark with its unique, curved structure.
Designed by RH+ and interior designer Nini Andrade Silva, the property has 309 rooms spread across 15 floors. The large glass windows allow ample natural light to pour into the room, making it feel airy and open. Each of the rooms features balconies, which are just another spot to take in the natural beauty that Madeira has to offer.
Once onsite, you can expect to find impeccable service, breathtaking sea views, and some of the chicest guest rooms you’ve ever seen. Panoramic views are best taken in from the rooftop lounge, terraced gardens, or multiple pools. The spa is the largest in Portugal and plays an ode to Laurissilva, Madeira’s UNESCO World Heritage site and the largest surviving laurel forest in the world. However, once you feel like venturing out, the beach is just a short walk away.
If you’re craving a bite, breakfast is a huge buffet filled with local cheeses, smoked fish, different varieties of fruit, and eggs in various ways. For lunch, Alameda’s fish options shouldn’t be skipped. And, the 16th floor placement of Galáxia offers spectacular views alongside contemporary dining choices. If you are in the mood for fancy Pan-Asian cuisine, Nikkei should be your first dinner reservation here.
Exclusivity is at your fingertips with the hotel’s brand-new hotel-within-a-hotel experience, The Reserve. Expect a hyper-upscale concept that offers myriad luxuries, including your own personal assistant during your stay.
All in all, Savoy Palace is a glimmering, big boutique hotel that serves as the perfect gateway to Madeira.
