This Hotel in Nashville Is Music City’s Most Sustainable Stay

With some of the most famous country hotspots in the country, Nashville is a music lover’s mecca. Landmarks like the Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame, and Broadway are some of the city’s most-visited spots, and with its location in the heart of downtown Nashville, the 1 Hotel Nashville is one of the best stays in the city.

After opening in July 2022, the property quickly became a fan favorite, thanks to its sustainable concepts, nature-inspired design, and incredible central location. Details like the ivy-covered facade, reclaimed wood, and organic textures take inspiration from the surrounding areas, including the Smoky Mountains and the Cumberland River.

It’s worth noting that the property’s exterior, which has 50,000 individually potted plants, is all grown by a local company that became in-house plant keepers for the house. Other notable design details are the point logs in the lobby, which are inspired by the Southern Log Cabins, along with the composable art in the hallways. With the design, the property intends to highlight the area’s history along with its surrounding natural beauty.

All of the 215 rooms, including 37 suites, feature a biophilic design that brings the outdoors into the space. The design is proven to increase mental health and calmness, leading to the establishment of an urban oasis amidst the busy city setting.

Furthermore, all of the rooms have sustainability concepts woven throughout the space. For instance, each room has a tap inside with filtered water to reduce the usage of single-use plastics, a timer in the shower for water conservation, in-room chalkboards instead of paper notepads, and bathrobes and slippers made from recycled materials. Every detail is part of the property’s sustainability effort and each has an impact.

Onsite dining options include Neighbors Cafe, a grab-and-go coffee shop with a wellness focus, along with 1Kitchen, a bar and a restaurant with sustainable zero-waste cocktails and dishes. The property also has Harriet’s, a popular rooftop bar with Asian-fusion cuisine options.

Some other notable onsite features include the Audi E-Tron house cars, which provide complimentary one-way transfers to anything within a five-mile radius. There is also the Bamford Wellness Spa with a selection of holistic treatments, services, and classes, and the Anatomy Fitness Center with state-of-the-art training equipment.

Arguably the best part of the stay is the proximity to the city’s most popular attractions. Within walking distance of the hotel are spots like the Country Music Hall of Fame, the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, and Nashville’s most famous street, Broadway.
