This Serene Retreat in Upstate New York Offers Elegant Accommodations to Nature-Loving Design Enthusiasts

Nestled in the scenic embrace of the Hudson Valley, Habitas-on-Hudson is a secluded sanctuary that seamlessly marries the serenity of nature with an impeccable sense of design. Housed within a meticulously restored 19th-century farmhouse, this enchanting getaway offers a haven of tranquility to those in search of artful aesthetics and respite from the chaos of everyday life.

Upon driving up the rocky path to the manor, it is immediately evident how seamlessly the property team managed to combine the old-world sophistication of the surrounding landscape’s history and the building’s original framework with modern minimalism that captivates even the most discerning design enthusiasts.

Whether travelers opt for a stay within the Manor, Lodge, or Stonehouse, each space is a testament to the hotel’s commitment to providing an environment that fosters relaxation and rejuvenation. Each of the six Manor rooms are named for renowned writers who drew inspiration from and metaphorized nature, while the Lodge rooms are situated deeper within the grounds’ foliage just a stone’s throw away from the Manor. The Quarters offer forest views from the privacy of the ground and top floors of the Stonehouse, while the Suites boast outdoor terraces and spacious living rooms. Exuding an air of timeless simplicity, every detail is carefully considered to curate a sense of calm.

Beyond its stunning surroundings, Habitas-on-Hudson invites guests to embark on a holistic physical, spiritual, and mental journey. All year round, seasonal produce is cultivated from the property’s organic garden, providing a farm-to-table culinary experience at Social, while herbs and fruits can also be found at The Pub at Social. This cozy, red-hued barroom is also the site of cocktail-making classes throughout the week; those lucky enough may even have the hotel’s General Manager Michele Alfonso as their instructor.

Guests are also able to trek along the grounds’ rolling hills for walks or hikes, or even to learn about the area’s provenant flora. There are also opportunities to engage in therapeutic wellness rituals such as crystal sound bowl meditation and holotropic breathwork.

Whether in search of a romantic getaway, a creative retreat, or a hiatus from city life, this alluring retreat promises an unforgettable experience that will leave travelers inspired and reinvigorated.
