This New Soho Hotspot Boasts Year-Round Dining with Its Idyllic Garden Atrium

As soon as the temperature drops in Manhattan, city-goers flock to their favorite restaurants and cocktail bars, evoking the perfect, cozy night-out ambiance—where one drink turns into two and conversations go long into the evening. For those that can’t entirely dump rooftop season yet still want a warm space to dine, we’re introducing the newly opened Twenty Three Grand at ModernHaus Soho.

Inspired by Philip Johnson’s Glass House, stylist Melissa Bowers situated the expansive 2,700-square-foot indoor-outdoor space under a sun-soaked atrium and retractable roof, allowing natural light by day and midnight sky by night to hover guests as they dine. Pristine white-clothed tables are adorned with intricate floral arrangements and illuminated by candles, which creates a romantic table setting.

Helmed by Executive Chef Ashley Rath, who’s behind the kitchen at acclaimed NYC restaurants such as Saint Theo’s and Gramercy Tavern, the menu features classic comfort dishes with a Mediterranean flair. An elevated Caviar Service with offerings such as the Golden Osetra served with chives, shallot, crème fraîche, spicy tuna, tater tots, and toast points for $185 is available upon request.

For starters, there’s a delectable Burrata appetizer (charred scallion pesto, roasted tomatoes, Marcona almonds), a beautifully plated Beef Carpaccio (arugula, mushroom, dijonnaise, and cornichons), and a flavorful Butternut Squash Soup (crème fraiche, ginger, chives) to get the tastebuds prepared. When it comes to the main course, consider trying the Bavette Steak doused in a creamy au poivre sauce along with an item from their designated “Truffle” menu: the Truffle Pappardelle is an outstanding dish that epitomizes fall’s comfort flavors.

To top off the warm and fuzzy vibes, we’re imbibing a sumptuous elixir (or two) while indulging in every bite. A range of signature cocktails, featuring the refreshing Garden Gimlet with gin, aquavit, lime, cucumber, and dill, or the seasonal Eden’s Apple libation, crafted with vodka, passion fruit, lime, cinnamon, nutmeg, and prosecco, perfectly complement the autumn ambiance. Also, there’s a mocktail selection, including a zingy Hibiscus Lemonade.

Before grabbing the check, sharing a Flourless Chocolate Cake with mango sorbet, Chocolate Chip Cookies, or a scoop of the indulgent Sea Salt Caramel ice cream is mandatory.

For an intimate dining experience drenched in an alluring ambiance, this is the spot where your next reservation should unfold.
