This Swanky Hotel on the Lower East Side Has Reimagined Its Iconic Cocktail Bar

In the ever-evolving nightlife landscape, the urge to connect and socialize remains a constant. Recognizing this, hospitality cognoscente Ian Schrager teamed up with nightlife visionary Nur Khan to create two fifteen, a reimagination of the former Bar Chrystie that promises to redefine the scene in New York City.

At this stylish venue, guests can expect not just elevated and innovative cocktails but a sexy Lower East Side setting to enjoy them.

The walls are draped with velvet sapphire-blue curtains, and the black-tiled floors sparkle beneath the glow of the neon golden light rods along the ceiling. Grab a seat along the long cement bar, or at one of the convivial marble tabletops surrounded by leather sofas and armchairs. A glittering “fallen” crystal chandelier and warped mirrors will surely awe.

The beverage program, crafted by the renowned Master Mixologist Charlotte Voisey, who also curated the Rose Bar’s menu, is divided into four comprehensive stages: The Champagne Cocktails, The Classics (with a twist), The Colors, and Spirit Free & Dreaming. Each section is designed to cater to diverse tastes while maintaining a consistent level of sophistication and creativity.

At the heart of The Champagne Cocktails is two fifteen’s signature drink, Gold Bellini. This luxurious take on the original Bellini of 1940s Venice is enhanced with Hendrick’s gin and topped with fresh raspberry and edible gold. Other highlights include the Pornstar Julep–which reinvents a 90s favorite with vanilla, passion fruit, and champagne served over crushed ice–and Island Vibes–a tropical Champagne mojito that transports guests to sunlit shores.

Those who appreciate classic cocktails with modern flair should opt for something from The Classics (with a twist), such as Rose Gold Vesper, an elegant spin on the traditional martini,  or OG Sazerac, which remains faithful to the original while adding a hint of gold.

The Colors are particularly intriguing, featuring drinks boasting vibrant hues and bold flavors. Crimson (Red) combines watermelon, Campari, Milagro tequila, and lime to deliver a fortifying, summer-ready concoction that captivates the senses. Last Word (Green) is reminiscent of a pre-prohibition, once-forgotten classic; with the addition of cucumber, this zippy imbibe is refreshing and approachable.

Imperial Classes (Purple) is a stunning interpretation of the Pisco Sour. Inspired by Peruvian chicha morada, it calls for red wine and butterfly pea flower to achieve its rich color and full-bodied flavor, finished with a striking gold garnish. Paper Plane (Orange) rounds out the section with Monkey Shoulder Scotch balanced by vanilla bitters.

Spirit-free cocktails like the Agave Gimlet and High Tea deliver the refinement of a crafted cocktail without the alcohol.

Seafood-centric light bites inspired by the acclaimed lobby-level Peruvian restaurant, POPULAR, complement the drinks menu.

two fifteen is set to become an essential destination in New York City’s nightlife landscape.
