This Seductive Boutique Hotel in Toronto’s Entertainment District Oozes Rock-and-Roll Vibes

Bisha Hotel is sexy. Like put on a pair of leather pants and roleplay as a rockstar for the weekend kind of vibes. More than just a hook to get people in the door—and in the mood for revelry—the property has a rock-and-roll soul and a hint of luxurious irreverence.

The bold, edgy lobby sets the stage for decadence and debauchery. Music thumps from the speakers, the walls are covered in midnight crushed velvet panels, the onyx-and-white-swirled floor bring the drama, a metallic fuchsia Jeff Koons sculpture stands in the corner, and the custom gilded reception desk looks like some mega talent is going to plug in an amp and slay the electric guitar right on top of it.

Through the heavy drapes, Mister C. serves swanky, sophisticated lounge energy with a rich color palette, circular fireplace, and framed Damien Hirst x Alexander McQueen collaboration scarves. Mixologist-made cocktails, beef sliders, DJs spinning tunes, and a good-looking crowd making it one of the hottest nightlife spots in the city.

Once the after-dark antics die down, retro rooms named after artists and creatives provide a stylish refuge to sleep in (the later, the better) with fluffy pillows, comfy mattresses, lacquered wood, plush upholstery, and 70s geometric carpets. Framed photos of famous faces hang from the walls.

The most VIP accommodations are located on the seventh floor, which was artfully designed by music legend and king of cool Lenny Kravitz. The Alexander flaunts an orange L-shaped couch for lounging, metallic details, and a large terrace for a little fresh air. The 2,000-square-foot Bisha Suite is a party pad. Depending on the guest, that might mean a singer tossing back celebratory post-performance shots, an A-lister inviting the crew over for beers after TIFF, or something more low-key like a director hosting movie night in the rotunda living room. Up the stairs, the bedroom gives off the opposite of a raucous impression. Featuring a king bed and black marble bathroom with a big soaking tub (a little bubbly in the bath sounds like superstar behavior—just saying), it’s very much a crash pad to sleep off whatever happened between dusk and dawn.

There’s a Parisian coffee shop on the ground level for whenever you do rise and inevitably need caffeine and a croissant STAT. Not to worry, the dark halls and dimply lit elevator won’t shock your system (or intensify a headache) on the way down.

Don’t want to the fun to end? The rooftop is always a good time. When the weather warms up enough, you can sit outside, swim in the infinity pool, and stare at the skyline views. In the winter, the party moves inside to Kōst—though, it never actually stops.

Any Personal Neighborhood Recs? Ask anyone in Toronto where to go for Thai food and you’ll hear the same response: Pai on Duncan Street. That’s because the Khao Soi and Pad See Ew are that tasty. And you can’t beat the lively atmosphere. Patrons pour into Le Sélect Bistro to eat classic French fare and sip bottles from the wine cave in the dining room that’s adorned with leather banquets and vintage posters or on the terrace. For nachos, tacos, and tequila flights, head to Rosalinda. Just maybe don’t tell your dyed-in-the-wool carnivore dinner companions it’s vegan until later (seriously, they’ll never guess it).
