An Inside Look at The Estate Yountville in Napa

estate_yountville_napa_california

In a valley as sprawling as Napa, too often you can feel isolated at properties intertwined in the vines–who wants to drive after a day of tasting? The Estate Yountville offers a solution; a 22-acre property proliferated with olive groves, orange- and lemon trees, two restaurants, two hotels, a private villa, a hot-air balloon launch pad and gallery of stores –– including the landmark V Wine Cellar, as well as Kollar Chocolates, the only brick and mortar of this famed restaurateur –– all at the heart of Yountville. If vine views are pertinent to your Napa Valley experience, a peek of working vineyards are parallel to the prodigus property, and Domaine Chandon’s vineyards nonetheless.

The estate was rebranded and renovated in 2018, then reopened in 2019, offering two stunning hotels that bookend the property. Hotel Villagio welcomes guests with a full bar, complete with a pool table, and sleek, leather furnishings, while Vintage House sparkles with chandeliers and amethyst sofas; a tasteful portrayal of masucline and feminine energies. Guests have access to both common areas, as to the pools, spa and amenities encircled in the estate.

Both restaurants on the property are helmed by award-winning Chef Michael Chiarello. Bottega is his Italian concept, notable for their short rib, Sofia Loren pasta and fresh cocktails (welcomed after a few days of sipping wine). Coqueta offers Spanish flair in the form of charcuterie, tapas and the unmissable paella.

If you’re staying for more than a few days, Yountville is renowned for their food scene, so you may want to venture off the estate to any of the world-class restaurants within walking distance, including Bouchon, The French Laundry, Ad Hoc, Bistro Jeanty and RH Yountville–just don’t forget to pick up a unique bottle of vino at V Wine Cellar to bring along. The 17-year-old wine store is housed in the original brick facade of the 1870 Groezinger family home, existing as more than a cellar, but as a community, where local vintners frequent to share a bottle and will happily introduce themselves. V Wines also offers sabering classes for anyone seeking to learn the art of this party trick and to commemorate their time in the valley.
