Grand Reveal: This Is What’s in Our Holiday 2023 Hotel Box

In case you missed it (we sold out of them quickly), we launched The Hotel Box by Hotels Above Par, our holiday season gift box comprising six products from six different luxe boutique hotels around the world. If you ask us, it’s the perfect gift for those who want to bring the spirit of hotels into their homes and daily lives. With two box variations, below is our grand reveal of what hotels plus products are in each of the two gift boxes.

Stay tuned for news on our upcoming Valentine’s Day Hotel Box.

Gift box #1

The Scott Resort & Spa (Scottsdale, Arizona) / Gift: Scented Candle

This dreamy desert oasis pays homage to the vibrancy, colors, and flavors of Old Havana with its teal-hued 1856-era Chevy Bel Air house car (perfect for cruising around Old Town Scottsdale) and the Caribbean-inspired fare, cocktails, and cigars found at the Canal Club bar and restaurant. Days are best spent sipping tropical drinks (best enjoyed in a coconut shell, obviously) in one of the cabanas, soaking in one of two sprawling swimming pools (one with a sand bottom for the ultimate beachy vibes), or relaxing at the La Vidorra spa. Lastly, rooms and suites have warm wooden furniture, old-world bronze, and a color palette of grays and blues reminiscent of the ocean.

Hôtel de Paris (Monte Carlo, Monaco) / Gift: Signature Slippers

Known as the playground of the rich and famous, Monte Carlo is home to over-the-top casinos, designer boutiques, and plenty of upscale bars, restaurants, and clubs. Stay and play like an A-lister at the landmark Hôtel de Paris, which occupies an opulent 1864-era Belle Epoque building that feels like a regal palace. A member of Leading Hotels of the World, we guarantee you will love the glass chandeliers, marble trappings, and favorable views of Monaco here.

HONEYROSE Hotel, Montreal, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel / Gift: Honey Jar

Open since summer 2023 and part of Marriott Bonvoy’s spirited indie boutique hotel brand Tribute Portfolio, Montreal’s HONEYROSE Hotel has distinct art deco design elements — expect lots of velvet, gold, and wood materials plus striking brass light fixtures — and original works from local artists. When it comes to details, no stone has been left unturned: In homage to the hotel’s name, you’ll find motifs of honey (symbolizing nature’s golden gift) and roses (representing love and passion) in the form of gold flecks on the marble-tiled floors. Our favorite part of the hotel? We get to gift you honey produced from the beehives on their rooftop.

Miraval (Various Locations) / Gift: Brand-New Cookbook

Ditch your worries — and your cellphone — at the door when checking into one of Miraval’s adults-only, all-inclusive, and device-free wellness resorts: Tucson, Austin, and the Berkshires are the three main locations that imbue everything above. The vibes at each property are best described as effortlessly calm and collected. Go ahead and get your zen on at the serene spa, partake in nature-centric activities like beekeeping and equine therapy, and nosh on healthful plant-forward cuisine featuring locally grown and sourced ingredients.

Hotel Dames des Arts (Paris, France) / Gift: Notebook

Nestled in Paris’ bustling Latin Quarter, this artsy hotel was once a Holiday Inn and, before that, a theater school—now, it’s far from that. Having reopened this year, acclaimed designer Raphael Navot has reimagined it to feature a sleek mid-century aesthetic (think: earthy tones, curved lines, oak floors, cashmere sofas, and wood-paneled walls and shelves). Don’t miss the ninth-floor rooftop bar that offers some of the best views of the City of Lights — and, yes, it’s cool enough to lure in locals.

The Plaza Hotel (New York City, New York) / Gift: Playing Cards

Lavish rooms and suites are outfitted with 24-karat gold-plated Sherle Wagner fixtures, hand-crafted marble vanities, and signature gilded headboards; white-glove butler service is also available on request. And if you didn’t snap a photo of your afternoon tea or glass of Bubbly in the glitzy Palm Court, did you even stay here?

Gift Box #2

The Morrow Hotel (Washington DC) / Gift: Scented Candle

Located in D.C.’s trendy and tree-lined NoMa neighborhood, The Morrow Hotel serves as a calming reprieve from our nation’s capital. Lounge out in the light-filled lobby, which features an industrial-inspired aesthetic in honor of its past — the property is built on the former site of a century-old electrical manufacturing company — with a neutral color palette, wood panels, and stone. See and be seen at the on-site Le Clou restaurant, which serves haute French cuisine helmed by Michelin-starred chef Nicholas Stefanelli, before retreating to one of the tranquil guest rooms done up with plush Italian linens and, fittingly, serene hues of blue.

1 Hotels (Multiple Locations) / Gift: Slippers

This luxury global hotel brand is renowned for its commitment to sustainability (all properties in the U.S. meet the minimum requirements for LEED certification). From Hanalei Bay to Toronto, each 1 Hotel is designed to serve as a tranquil sanctuary with plenty of natural light, upcycled materials, and plenty of flora to bring the outdoors in. Unsurprisingly, the food and drink offerings are also top-notch: Chefs seek inspiration from each hotel’s locale — utilizing herbs from on-site gardens and apiaries, along with seasonal ingredients from local purveyors — to craft creative and nourishing cuisine.
