Meet the dreamy Santorini caldera resort that started it all: Katikies Santorini.
Santorini’s legendary grande dame couldn’t be better located in the town of Oia on the crescent-shaped island’s northern coast. Katikies Santorini, a Leading Hotels of the World member, is tucked just off the pedestrian-only promenade that winds through Oia’s buzzing heart toward Oia Castle, a famous sunset viewpoint.

From street level, Katikies Santorini’s whitewashed Cycladic-style cottages seemingly tumbles down the rust-hued cliffside. A network of bridges and staircases zig-zag through the pristine grounds (even the walkways are repainted every single day); the luxury hotel’s trio of sea-facing infinity pools appear to empty into the deep blue waters below.
Katikies Santorini hosts 34 chic cavern-like rooms and suites that have been recently refreshed with natural wooden accents and bright pops of Aegean blue. Each impeccably-appointed space faces directly out to the Mediterranean, offering vistas of the ancient islands of Thirasia and Nea Kameni. In the higher-end suites—the Katikies Suites, Master Suites and Honeymoon Suites—white-picket gates lead into a private terrace with a jacuzzi or plunge pool.
Guests can book a wellness treatment at the sumptuous A.SPA, or enlist Katikies Club, the hotel group’s experience-driven concierge service, for unforgettable day trips such as yacht excursions around the caldera and tours of Santorini’s famous wineries.
Just time for the summer season, Katikies will be rolling out a series of fresh dining concepts across all their properties developed in collaboration with Greek-Italian chef Ettore Botrini, whose eponymous Athens restaurant boasts one Michelin star. This year, Botrini’s Cycladic outpost will arrive as Katikies Santorini’s new signature fine dining restaurant. From a candle-lit alfresco perch 300 feet above the caldera, diners at Botrini’s can choose from two multi-course tasting menus as well as à la carte options—all spotlight the bounty of local ingredients—with wine pairings expertly curated by acclaimed Master of Wine Yiannis Karaksis.
