This Glitzy New York City Bar Boasts Manhattan’s Largest Gin Selection

Set in the heart of New York City’s NoMad neighborhood, The Ivory Peacock Bar is Manhattan’s glitziest new cocktail lounge. And on top of all that glimmer, it holds the title of the city’s most extensive gin library.

The establishment engulfs a debonair design enhanced with old-age glamour trappings throughout. Plush seating permeates the space, and dimly lit antique chandeliers hover from above, spawning a moody feel. Moving further into the lounge, the centerpiece Emerald Bar greets guests, housing recessed shelving backdropped by marble-finished walls and golden-hued lighting.

The cocktail programming here is robust, especially regarding the Sub-Zero Martini menu. Ask us about which gin-martini concoctions are our favorites? We’ll have to go with the HL MartiniDorothy Parker Gin, olive brine, Bittermens Hopped Grapefruit Bitters, and green, red & black Cerignola olive trio — and the Jardin de FleursDorothy Parker Gin Rose Petal, Calvados, house flower cordial, yuzu, lemon, and egg white.

While it may be a gin-focused bar, vodka, tequila, whiskey, and wine admirers won’t face a short selection: The Handle Your Scandal, On Tap — Tequileño Blanco, passionfruit, super lime, wasabi pea rimand the Nouveau Old Fashioned — Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Copali Cacao Rum, acidified orange, cherry garnish, and Angostura bitters — are two libations to try.

Pair these cocktails with a few items from the “Raw Bar” and “Starters” menus, which lean into the likes of French finger food and Japanese flavors. The Tuna TarTare is an ambrosial choice, comprising coriander sauce, cucumber, and tobiko. Not to miss too are the oysters, which arrive in the kitchen daily.

At the end of the evening, slink down to Ploume — the Ivory Peacock’s subterranean cocktail lounge — for a swanky nightcap spot. Swarthy-toned tufted furnishings, red show curtains, and floral-accented wallpapers give this space the perfect burlesque-y ambiance.

Simply put, the Ivory Peacock Bar is most definitely worth flocking to for your next extravaganza, date night, or typical weekend outing in New York City.
