The first thing to do is hit the slopes, of course! And while the mountain has recently expanded its beginner terrain, expert skiers (and daredevils) keep returning to the hill for the more challenging downhill it offers. Brave Corbet’s Couloir, if you so dare, or ski off-piste along the Hobacks.
Strolling around Jackson Hole’s Town Square is the best way to soak in this Wild West town. First, stop for a bite to eat at Jackson’s oldest brewery, Snake River Brewing, before perusing natural artworks at the National Museum of Wildlife Art. When it comes to shopping, consider Stio Mountain Studio for all-season, upscale outerwear, and Altitude for designer accessories or their medley of apothecary items from candles to essential oils. Evenings should be spent at the Jackson Hole Playhouse: a sensational Western-themed dinner and show theater. Don’t forget to snap a picture under the colossal Jackson Hole Elk Antler Arch, which is held together by over 2,000 elk antlers provided by the National Elk Refuge.
Give your legs a break for the day and head out to the National Elk Refuge for a Sleigh Ride through the beautiful reserve. The elk shed their antlers every spring, resulting in the gorgeous arches you’ll find in downtown Jackson—volunteers collect fresh antlers each year to build the iconic structures anew.
