These arty, eccentric vacation rentals are chock-full of charm, character, and a (generous) splash — or heaping — of eccentricity. But, hey, isn’t that what makes them so unique, anyways? Keep reading for a few of our favorites throughout the US.
This Chicago Penthouse With Its Own Art Gallery
This stylish Windy City rental features loads of natural light and modern decor — plus an incredible collection of artwork adorned all over. Our two favorite pieces? The color-filled, lego-inspired painting in the kitchen, along with the 3D orange, white, and wooden-woven installation in one of the bedrooms.
This Former Artist Studio in Upstate NY
Seek inspiration in nature with a stay at this completely re-imagined rental. Today, it’s outfitted with modern architectural touches and neat retro furnishings — all of which pair together (surprisingly) seamlessly. You’ll also find lots of floor-to-ceiling windows, wood paneling, and industrial-inspired design elements. Surrounding the home, you’ll find acres of 100-year-old cedar trees, expansive lawns, and a private waterfall.
An Incredible New Orleans Escape
Those in search of serenity will find it — along with so much more — in this dreamy yet eclectic New Orleans home. The two-bedroom rental is accented with a vibrant gallery wall, along with original pinewood flooring, brick accents, vintage lighting, and a swinging rattan chair. The home’s backyard and patio are both just as quirky as its interior, complete with string lights, a hanging day bed, and lush greenery.
A Colorful Tiny House in Sacramento
This humble California abode — aptly named “California Art House” — was designed and constructed in 2020: The creative brainchild of its Superhost, who also happens to be a locally based artist. Everything found inside (and outside!) of the 200-square-foot property was painted, sculptured, and refinished by hand.
