Barefoot Luxury is Redefined at St. Barts’ Gyp Sea Beach Houses

The new Gyp Sea Beach Houses in St. Barts should have the motto “luxury with a side of flip-flops.” Tucked on the famed Saint-Jean beach, these abodes are not your grandma’s seaside retreat. With names that could double as exotic cocktails—Sunset Corail, Bohemian Blue, Wild Banana, and Coco Mango—each cottage serves up its own brand of paradise, complete with private pools and VIP access to the sand.

Here, the decor whispers tales of far-flung travels and chic soirées, blending the bohemian with the bespoke. It’s as if every cushion, each stroke of paint, and every piece of art (handpicked, of course) was designed to make you feel like the protagonist in a story where the setting is always golden hour.

With fabrics that have more passport stamps than you (courtesy of Pierre Frey and friends) and art from globe-trotting creatives like Pierre Malbec and Anna Price, these beach houses are a masterclass in how to do tropical sophistication.

But Gyp Sea isn’t just about looking good. It’s about feeling good, too. It is the kind of place where the service is so personalized (you get a butler, after all) that it feels like your best friend is running the show. Need a table at that restaurant everyone’s talking about? Consider it done. Fancy exploring the island’s secret spots? They know just the place. It’s the kind of hands-on, nothing-is-too-much-trouble vibe that turns first-timers into repeat offenders.
