Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is best known for its fascinating Buddhist sites, which have attracted travelers for centuries. The country is also home to a whopping seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These include Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple, a sacred cave temple complex complete with murals and five centuries, The Dambulla Cave Temple —The Largest Temple Complex In Sri Lanka. The most popular among the best places to visit in Sri Lanka is the Dambulla cave temple. It tops the Sri Lanka tourist destinations. The Ancient City of Sigiriya (AKA “lion’s rock”) is another UNESCO site. Here, you’ll find ancient ruins complete with towering rocks, staircases, and, best of all, a carved sculpture of a lion’s mouth. The Lotus Tower, which is located in Sri Lanka’s capital city of Colombo, is over 1,400 feet tall — making it a great place to take in the panoramic views. Meanwhile, animal lovers can visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (where you can watch elephants bathe and feed them fruit) and Yala National Park (where leopards, crocs, and other stunning animals roam). Lastly, don’t forget to build in some beach time at the often-overlooked Unawatuna Beach (complete with golden-sand shorelines) or Hikkaduwa Beach (known for snorkeling, scuba diving, and snorkeling).
