New Los Angeles Hotels That Debuted in 2020

Dorothy Parker famously quipped, “Los Angeles is 72 suburbs in search of a city.” Lately, developers and hotel chains have raced to plant a flag in all of them. Not even the pandemic pumped the brakes on LA’s unabating hospitality boom, the most robust in the nation, or this fab four’s 2020 debut. ⬇️

Los Angeles loves a good reinvention story and this glow-up turned a dingey ‘50s motel with a check-cashing window into a creamy 59-room stunner at the edge of Los Feliz. The hotel rooms are tight but lux with herringbone floors, tufted chairs, with California artisanship championed at every turn (ceramic lamps, trendy liquor, and treats in minibars). But the true showstoppers are the sun-dappled patios and central courtyard surrounding a reflecting pool that dish up hyper-seasonal eats and desserts under twinkle-lit olive trees.
