We are thrilled to share our monthlong Seclusion Sunday series has been a success. Most importantly, we are pleased to have posted content highlighting responsible travel that minimizes human interaction during these times when we are all craving a stay that’s not accompanied by a bevy of people; a place where it can just be you, your immediate bubble, and nobody else. It’s hard to showcase only one place as there are so many cute, secluded getaways throughout North America. So, with that in mind, for today’s Seclusion Sunday, we are sharing two private Airbnbs (@airbnb) that are away from the hustle-and-bustle of city life and a manageable drive from metropolises, New York City and Philadelphia👇
It’s cuddle season, which is why if you live in New York, in-the-heart-of-the-Catskills escape, Stony Creek Cabin (@stonycreekcabin) needs to be on your regional bucket list. Located on ¾ of an acre next to Stony Clove Creek, this cabin is woodsy with modern furnishings that give it a refined interior. If you miss the full-on holiday decorations in Manhattan (largely compromised this year due to the pandemic), this cabin is the perfect place to get your Christmas-décor fix with its abundance of festive chachkies and decorations.
Located in Pennsylvania, this woodland cabin is near the Delaware River National Parks, which boast stunning landscapes. Up for hiking? Nearby trails leading to Shawnee Mountain and Bushkill Falls are not-to-miss. You might need to layer up a bit more than usual as it’s winter, however, the outdoorsy trek is still awe-inspiring. Aesthetic-wise, imagine a mountain-esque exterior in the middle of the forest, as well as an elevated-chalet style interior with wood floors and snug furnishings that encourage hot chocolate sipping while watching holiday-themed movies on the for-guest-use projector.
As a note, Airbnb offers flexible cancelation policies on most bookings — so you can feel safe and secure in your decision to travel.
