This Paris Hotel in Saint-Germain-des-Prés Feels Like a Hidden Parisian Home

As soon as you step inside Relais Christine in Paris, you are transported to a secret haven surrounded by small paved courtyards and the sounds of nature, all while being just a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The luxurious boutique hotel is located in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of the most iconic neighborhoods on the Left Bank of Paris. So, you’re within easy reach of the city’s famous landmarks, from the Seine banks to the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral. And after a day of exploring, you return to what feels like a chic Parisian home.

This former private mansion has been beautifully restored and renovated, blending classic French design with contemporary materials and a touch of whimsy. The design is a brilliant fusion of antique and modern, thanks to the expertise of interior designer Laura Gonzalez. The 48 rooms and suites are spacious and luxurious, each featuring high ceilings, magnificent wallpaper, and original fabrics that evoke the feeling of an opulent private residence. Some rooms even have terraces overlooking a lush garden, providing a serene escape from the city.

Even the bathrooms are a luxurious treat, with some lined in marble and others adorned with colorful mosaics, offering the perfect place to relax and pamper oneself. In addition, all rooms come with thoughtful amenities such as Marshall Bluetooth speakers, Nespresso machines, and Diptyque products.

And for an even more indulgent experience, guests can retreat to the Guerlain Spa, where they can unwind and relax under the vaults of a former 13th-century Cistercian abbey, complete with a sauna. The spa offers a range of treatments and massages, using products from the famous Parisian beauty brand Guerlain to pamper and rejuvenate guests after a long day of sightseeing.

Adding to that homey feel, the hotel features cozy lounges with inviting spaces to lounge, including private seating areas, warm fireplaces, and quiet nooks. Guests can start their day with a delicious buffet breakfast and continue indulging in tasty snacks. The hotel also offers the added convenience of an honor bar, where guests can enjoy aperitifs. These lounges are open for guests at all hours, providing a perfect retreat for early birds or night owls.

Ultimately, the Relais Christine—a member of Relais & Châteaux since 2022 — is a gem: a luxurious boutique hotel that embodies the soul of Paris and the mythical neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. While here, you’ll feel like a local but get treated like a time-honored guest.
