This Santa Fe, New Mexico, Hotel & Spa Is a Journey through the Senses

Located in Downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico, The Inn of Five Graces is a masterful design and hospitality creation pieced together by textile designer and mosaic artists Ira & Sylvia Seret. Their life’s work is woven into the hotel’s walls, part of one of the country’s oldest adobe buildings. Dubbed the “Seret Aesthetic,” their decor style combines eastern influences from places such as Tibet, Afghanistanistan, Morocco, and India, with the local Old Santa Fe Trail.

The spa here eclectically outclasses. Its Silk-Road-meets-Old-Santa-Fe ethos demarcates it from other wellness centers in New Mexico, both through appearance and philosophy. Tibetan trappings, tesselated motifs, and exposed adobe walls invoke a calming setting. Guests committed to the art of pampering should elect to experience The Five Graces Signature Body Care, which acclimates the body to the surrounding dry desert climate, comprising a full body exfoliation followed by a coat of thermal mud from the Montalcino region of Italy. This tantalizing service concludes with a hydrating oil of your choice — each with a scent corresponding to a respective Silk Road destination.

The second most historic building on the property is The Rock House, which hosts full-bedroom suites and living spaces with a thoroughly supplied kitchenette, a large bathroom with a soaking tub, and a walk-in shower. Each suite boasts antique wooden doors that open into a lavishly decorated bedroom containing a king-sized bed, a second seating area, a kiva fireplace, and a TV covered by Southwestern-style tapestries. Sylvia Seret’s intricate tiling adorns each guestroom, drawing visitant eyes towards normally overlooked areas such as the kitchenette and bathroom chambers.

Breakfast here is personal and served directly to your room. The menu contains diverse culinary sensations, most drawing inspiration from local cuisine, offering traditional New Mexican breakfast dishes like Huevos Rancheros and Blue-Corn Pancakes. (Tip from a local: order the Huevos Rancheros “Christmas style” (red and green chile) for the full experience.)

Onsite fine-dining establishment 315 Restaurant & Wine Bar serves ambrosial French-inspired cuisine.

Other noteworthy features include a fitness center, yoga room, and a courtyard bar where guests can enjoy live music come early evenings.

Given the exquisite handiwork found in every corner of the inn, the spa services incorporating scents from regions where the decor was influenced by, the flavorful New Mexican cuisine, and the pinon fire that crackles in the kiva fireplaces in each room, filling the air with a scent synonymous with winter in New Mexico, The Inn of Five Graces truly is a journey of the senses.
