Thompson hotels are recognized around the world as modern, luxurious stays, and Thompson Hollywood is no exception. Nestled in the heart of Hollywood, the hotel is the perfect home base for exploring around the City of Angels.

Designed by renowned London-based interior design studio Tara Bernerd & Partners, the Thompson is an interiors playground. Every inch of the property has been thoughtfully executed, from the massive plants that greet you at the door to the fun patterns and colors that adorn the furnishings in the rooms.

The space draws influences from Hollywood glamour, 1960s retro, and mid-century modern styles, all packaged in a vibrant, California-cool aesthetic. Speckled terrazzo and swirled onyx fixtures mix with velvet upholstery and brass hardware, keeping your eyes engaged wherever you look around the hotel.

Though the rooms are on the smaller side (as is par for the course in a Hollywood hotel), they have enough space for a comfortable stay. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of Hollywood and the hills, and guests have the pleasure of waking up with the sun every morning. There are a few different room types, including single and double queen, and king configurations, and some rooms have a terrace or balcony so you can enjoy your morning coffee in the dreamy southern California weather.

The Thompson is home to Bar Lis, a renowned rooftop lounge that’s a Los Angeles destination in its own right. Go for the cocktails and the Hollywood view sign, stay for the live music and dancing that lasts until 2 A.M. (and then stumble back to your room afterward).

Also on the roof is their pool, perfect for soaking up the California sun—and cooling off during the brutal LA summers. If you’re looking to step outside the property, it’s within walking distance of all of Hollywood’s coolest restaurants and nightlife, including Mother Wolf, Grandmaster Recorders, Desert 5 Spot, and more.

Thompson Hollywood is the best kind of city hotel: fun but still homey, and right at the center of everything you’ll want to see when you’re visiting LA.
